The Assistant Tax Manager position is a step-through role to full Tax Manager responsibility while being supported and guided by Directors. It is a planned process of career progression rather than a “break-through or break you” approach to promotion.
Our professional services client is a CPA practice which is centrally located and has over thirty staff. The practice’s client base includes not only successful WA business operators but premium clients focused on strategic investments.
The career step in this role as Assistant Tax Manager is clear for those with an eye to the future. The breadth of opportunity is commensurate with the nature of the client base services provided and career development through the ongoing growth of the practice.
You may be a Chartered Accountant or CPA who is frustrated at the pace of career progression in your current employment. You may be targeting a manager position in the medium term but are uncertain as to the support which would be provided to you. This position of Assistant Tax Manager carries appropriate responsibility and delegated authority but is fully supported at all levels.
Your background is likely to be with a well-established CA or CPA firm where you will have built your tax and business advisory skills over a minimum of five years. You will have an inclination for providing clients with advice which includes tax accounting and compliance and the tax implications in general business challenges and decisions.
Your personal nature will be underpinned by a drive for progression and continued technical improvement. You will also recognise the value and benefits in having Director support behind you in meeting your professional challenges.
